About the role#
As a Service Technician Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with the diverse range of equipment maintained by United Rentals. This role is designed for individuals pursuing a technical degree or certification who are interested in building a career in the mechanical field. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support branch operations and prepare for potential future roles within the service department.
What you'll do#
- Learn the various types of equipment available for rent and understand their specific applications.
- Perform manual and maintenance tasks to support daily branch operations.
- Provide labor assistance to seasoned mechanics during equipment service and repair.
- Deliver exceptional service to customers.
- Challenge yourself daily to improve your technical skills and mechanical knowledge.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing a technical degree or certification in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and foundational knowledge of tools and equipment.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Self-motivated, driven, and capable of working with a sense of urgency.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
