About the role#
As an Internal Audit Intern, you will work on projects that impact our business operations. You will gain exposure to accounting from both an operational and corporate perspective. This role provides a foundation for developing accounting leaders, as many of our accountants begin their careers in internal audit.
What you'll do#
- Assist with planning, execution, and reporting of compliance and operational audits and special projects.
- Support evaluations and testing of internal controls to ensure they meet departmental and professional standards.
- Participate in audit reviews from the initial planning stage through findings discussions and report preparation.
- Prepare and maintain audit documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to methodology.
- Collaborate with the internal audit team to identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Interact with managers and supervisors to support discussions on audit findings and recommendations.
- Provide assistance to external auditors as directed by the department.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- Available terms include Fall 2026 and Summer 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
