About the role#
This internship at the SDI BioCarbon Solutions division offers hands-on experience in corporate and operational accounting. You will work on real projects that support our facility in Columbus, Mississippi, as we produce renewable biocarbon to advance sustainable steelmaking. This role is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end or quarter-end close activities.
- Support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting tasks.
- Contribute to internal and external audits by validating compliance, inventory levels, and internal controls.
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Collaborate with accounting staff and operations teams to troubleshoot issues, recommend improvements, and provide financial insights.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
