About the role#
We are hiring a Transportation Roadway Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time position based in Columbus, Ohio. You will work directly with our engineering teams to support projects that connect communities and improve infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Support roadway, airport, and structural design groups.
- Work with construction engineering teams in the field.
- Perform basic engineering calculations.
- Assist with the development of engineer's estimates.
- Help the team prepare CAD drawings and project reports.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor or master degree program for Civil Engineering.
- A strong interest in transportation engineering planning, design, and construction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation/Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Ability to work effectively within a team on multiple projects.
- Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills.
- A basic understanding of civil design concepts.
