About the role#
RailPros is hiring an Engineering Intern to support our utilities team in Irving, Texas. This internship provides hands-on experience in project management within the rail and civil engineering sectors. You will work alongside project managers and real estate specialists to help plan and execute infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Review utility designs, engineering plans, and construction work plans to ensure they meet AREMA and client-specific railroad standards.
- Use Valuation Maps and electronic GIS maps to calculate stationing and mileposts.
- Provide feedback to the real estate team and utility companies within set timelines.
- Track project submittals and responses in our management systems.
- Participate in client meetings and applicant conference calls.
- Escalate complex issues or variance requests to the Manager of Utility Engineering.
- Perform limited field observations at project sites during various stages of construction.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in railroad utilities.

- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program, specifically in Civil Engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in Irving, Texas.
