About the role#
Stantec is hiring Summer 2027 Construction Management Interns to join the Community Development Group in Minnesota. This is a full-time, paid internship that provides hands-on experience with community infrastructure projects. You will spend most of your time working outdoors on construction sites, with potential office-based tasks depending on project needs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the civil component of various projects including roadways, parks, trails, and water infrastructure.
- Perform construction observation to ensure compliance with project documents and engineering principles.
- Manage construction administration tasks such as documenting activities, measuring materials, coordinating testing, and reviewing shop drawings.
- Complete detailed reports and assist with construction surveying or staking.
- Communicate with construction staff, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Complete office duties such as CAD drafting, design work, and preparation of plans and specifications.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering, construction management, GIS/Survey, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of basic AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and general surveying.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take direction.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate rugged terrain.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable transportation for travel to job sites.
