About the role#
As a BIM Technician Intern, you will work under the guidance of a BIM Lead to support project delivery. This role involves collaborating with project managers and design staff on both small and large-scale projects. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to building design processes and participating in team meetings.
What you'll do#
- Set up new BIM models and manage file structures for projects.
- Prepare drawing documentation in collaboration with project managers and technical staff.
- Work in Revit Structure on 3D projects, including model maintenance and object placement.
- Convert markups into document-ready work.
- Publish, post, and manage drawing sets while maintaining revisions.
- Create electronic data files that meet Stantec and client requirements.
- Assist staff with Revit issues and mentor design team members on system use.
- Provide recommendations to improve BIM production efficiency.
- Attend in-house and external project meetings.
- Participate in initiatives that support studio and firm-wide goals.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Architectural or Structural Technology degree.
- Completion of at least junior-level coursework.
- Working knowledge of recent versions of Revit and Building Information Modeling.
- Experience with Revit family creation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with design methods in the architectural and engineering field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple data points to produce deliverables.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of initiative.
