About the role#
This is an intermediate level Intern Architect position working under the guidance of senior architects and designers. You will contribute to the design of architectural schematics, space programming, site planning, and the development of building forms, sections, and details. You will work on a variety of projects, including institutional, education, commercial, retail, and healthcare sectors, while assisting in the creation of sustainable prototypes.
What you'll do#
- Develop designs for projects across various sectors.
- Assist with business development tasks, such as writing proposals and reviewing work plans.
- Evaluate and assimilate design changes from clients or project architects.
- Coordinate architectural designs with internal team members, engineering consultants, and other specialist disciplines.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Prepare deliverables throughout all project phases.
What you'll need#
- A degree in Architecture (undergraduate or master's level).
- Currently in the process of becoming a Registered Architect in Canada.
- Previous experience as a graduate architect on a variety of projects.
- Strong BIM knowledge and proficiency in Revit.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning, and jurisdictional processes.
- Familiarity with design software such as Rhino, SketchUp, and Grasshopper.
- Technical understanding of building science and construction contracts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients and design teams.
