About the role#
This is an intermediate level Intern Architect position working under the guidance of a Senior Architect or Designer. You will contribute to the design of architectural schematics, space programming, site planning, and the development of building forms, sections, and details. You will work with a team focused on creating sustainable prototypes.
What you'll do#
- Develop designs for projects across various sectors including institutional, education, commercial, retail, and healthcare.
- Coordinate architectural designs with engineering consultants and other design team members.
- Evaluate and assimilate design changes introduced by clients or project architects.
- Assist in business development activities such as writing proposals and reviewing work plans.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Prepare project deliverables across all phases while supporting quality control and safety policies.
What you'll need#
- A four-year undergraduate or master's degree in Architecture.
- Current status in the process of becoming a Registered Architect in Canada.
- Previous experience as a graduate architect on a wide array of projects.
- Strong BIM knowledge and Revit proficiency.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Knowledge of modeling and design software such as Rhino, SketchUp, and Grasshopper.
- Understanding of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building science, and construction contracts.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and design team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
