About the role#
Hatch is hiring a Hydrotechnical Engineering Student for our Thunder Bay office. You will join our team to assist experienced engineers with technical analyses and designs related to civil engineering hydraulics, hydrology, and water resources management. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Run hydrology and hydraulics analyses, calculations, and computer simulations.
- Help prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and project correspondence.
- Assist in the development of client proposals and presentations.
- Travel to client sites for field visits as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program for civil, hydrotechnical, or water resources engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of your degree program.
- Coursework, research, or work experience in hydrotechnical topics like open-channel hydraulics or statistical hydrology.
- Proficiency in GIS, AutoCad, and Microsoft software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Experience with HEC-RAS or HEC-HMS is an asset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
