About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Port Planning Intern to join our Infrastructure group in Los Angeles. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship. You will work with a diverse team of professionals to develop solutions for port planning challenges.
What you'll do#
- Apply planning principles to provide efficient and effective solutions for port projects.
- Conduct planning efforts for road, rail, and marine infrastructure.
- Collect, review, and analyze planning and operational data.
- Prepare reports, technical memos, presentations, schedules, maps, and models.
- Assist with detailed project designs and prepare drawings from specifications.
- Coordinate with technicians and engineers.
- Provide support to senior staff on various assignments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban planning, civil engineering, industrial engineering, or transportation planning.
- A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- An interest in the maritime industry and freight transportation planning.
- Willingness to travel to Hatch offices, project sites, and supplier sites.
- Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is an asset.

- Location: Los Angeles, CA.
- Modality: This is an on-site role. We value in-person interaction and collaboration.
- Compensation: $27 - $32 per hour.
