About the role#
This internship offers students in the agriculture industry a chance to gain experience within the Simplot Grower Solutions trade area. You will split your time between operational tasks during the peak season and agronomy duties as the season progresses. This position is based on-site in Milden, Saskatchewan.
What you'll do#
- Support retail operations by coordinating product movement, loading and unloading supplies, and assisting the team with daily tasks.
- Manage seed treatment and complete loadout tickets for customer transactions.
- Conduct inventory counts twice a week and maintain the yard, including mowing and site upkeep.
- Take responsibility for crop scouting three fields throughout the growing season.
- Use tools like AgWorld to track your scouting data.
- Consult regularly with the local Agronomist, Agronomy Consulting Expert, or Agronomy Lead.
- Execute the field signing initiative and assist with data collection, scouting, or application on trial fields.
- Help organize field days and customer tours.
- Participate in ride-alongs with Account Managers and Ag Innovation Leads.
- Complete the Winfield United Agronomy & Intern Training Program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program focused on the agriculture industry.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- The ability to perform manual labor and tasks requiring manual dexterity.
