About the role#
This internship offers students in the agriculture industry a chance to gain experience within the Simplot Grower Solutions trade area. You will handle day-to-day operations during the peak season before transitioning into agronomy duties as the season progresses.
What you'll do#
Your work will balance operational tasks with agronomic field programs. You will coordinate product movement, load and unload shipments, and complete loadout tickets for customers. Maintaining the site is part of the role, including inventory counts twice a week and general yard upkeep.
On the agronomy side, you will scout three fields throughout the growing season and use AgWorld to track your findings. You will consult with local experts and assist with crop scouting as directed. You will also support the agPROVE trial program by maintaining field signs, capturing data, and helping during field days or customer tours. You will participate in the Winfield United Agronomy and Intern Training Program and shadow Account Managers and Ag Innovation Leads.
Throughout your work, you will maintain customer confidentiality, follow safety practices, and ensure all licenses remain in compliance with regulations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in post-secondary education in the agriculture industry
- Valid Class 5 driver license
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to perform manual labor
Location & details#
This position is based on-site in Leader, Saskatchewan. The role is full-time and paid, with a rolling term. You will work in both indoor and outdoor settings, with overtime required as needed.
