About the role#
This internship is based at the Don Plant Fertilizer Manufacturing Facility in Pocatello, Idaho. You will support plant process areas by applying chemical engineering principles to process optimization, compliance, and new product development. This is a paid, full-time position available for Winter 2027 or Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Perform process engineering tasks under the guidance of supervisors.
- Use computer-assisted engineering software to support project execution.
- Assist with bench testing, including assimilating and calculating data for final reports.
- Analyze the quality of raw materials, fertilizer products, and intermediate process streams.
- Prepare chemical solutions for quality control and processing experiments.
- Clean, calibrate, and repair testing equipment while maintaining an organized work area.
- Participate in team meetings to establish engineering designs and processes.
- Develop your written and verbal communication skills.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a chemical engineering program at a nationally accredited university.
- Sophomore standing or above is preferred.
- You must return to school after the internship concludes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
