About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in our Columbus office. You will join the Water Resources group to gain experience with water line installations, storm and sanitary systems, treatment facilities, and flood protection projects. While focused on water resources, you may also assist with tasks in Geotechnical, Transportation, and Environmental Services. The work involves a mix of office-based tasks and field visits.
What you'll do#
- Process and manage data using GIS to support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
- Create records for water service projects.
- Prepare spreadsheets, graphs, and figures for construction reports.
- Review construction plans, specifications, quantity take-offs, and estimates.
- Assist with field work, including data collection, site inspections, and construction observations.
- Support Project Managers with tasks to track and advance project progress.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related technical degree program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and handle multiple tasks at once.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Experience with PDF-editing software like Bluebeam or Adobe is preferred.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
