About the role#
As a Civil/Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team on various water infrastructure projects. These projects include dams, levees, pump stations, treatment facilities, and stormwater infrastructure. You will gain hands-on experience supporting local and national projects for clients such as municipalities, power utilities, and government agencies.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project administration tasks, including writing reports, drafting proposals and correspondence, and tracking project costs.
- Support technical staff by researching, compiling, and evaluating project data.
- Perform calculations for design projects.
- Execute modeling and design activities for water infrastructure.
- Gain exposure to CAD, GIS, and other design software.
- Conduct construction observations and assist with field work when necessary.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and follow direction.
- A strong willingness to learn.

- Location: Louisville, Kentucky.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time position.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Note: Work occurs in a typical office environment, though field work may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
