About the role#
St. Luke's University Health Network is hiring a Radiology Student Intern for a per diem, on-site role in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania. This position is open to students currently enrolled in an ARRT recognized radiography program. You will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures under the supervision of a registered technologist.
What you'll do#
- Perform diagnostic radiographic services on patients while following radiation protection principles.
- Evaluate the technical quality of images and remain accountable for the digital images sent to PACS.
- Verify patient identity and ensure the accuracy of medical record information.
- Demonstrate competency in RIS/HIS modules.
- Prepare assigned areas by ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are ready for use.
- Provide educational information to patients regarding their examinations.
- Follow downtime procedures to maintain continuity of care.
- Adhere to safety policies and maintain patient confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ARRT recognized radiography program.
- Completed clinical competencies in Chest, Abdomen, and Extremity categories.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull patients weighing up to 300 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
