Graduate Nurse and Registered Nurse NICU Internship- Full Time Nights- Fall 2026 Cohort

About the role#

St. Luke's University Health Network is offering a full-time, night-shift NICU Internship for the Fall 2026 cohort. This competency-based program is designed to support the transition from novice to advanced beginner through a combination of seminars, workshops, supervised hands-on training, simulation, and clinical observations. The internship includes a clinical preceptorship and provides 54.5 continuing education credits through AWHONN’s Neonatal Orientation & Education Program.

What you'll do#

• Provide nursing care for high-risk neonates and infants by assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating patient care.
• Work cooperatively with nursing staff, ancillary personnel, and the broader patient-care team to uphold professional nursing standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient and network materials and ensure the proper release of information.
• Demonstrate competency in patient assessment, growth and development knowledge, and age-appropriate communication.

What you'll need#

• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure prior to the start of the internship.
• For nursing students: Must have prior experience working in a NICU or a scheduled senior practicum in a NICU setting.
• For experienced RNs: Must be currently licensed but without prior NICU work experience.
• Current BLS certification and the ability to successfully complete the Neonatal Resuscitation Program within one year of hire.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 75 pounds and transporting patients weighing up to 250 pounds with assistance.
