About the role#
This position provides a pathway for high school seniors to enter the healthcare field. You will receive training while in school and gain hands-on experience before graduation. The role is designed to prepare you for a standard phlebotomy position upon completion of your diploma. You will perform venipunctures and collections under the close supervision of an experienced phlebotomist.
What you'll do#
- Perform approved phlebotomy collections under the supervision of a trained staff member.
- Provide courteous and helpful service to patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.
- Communicate with physician offices to obtain diagnosis coding information and resolve problems.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment by cleaning, organizing, rotating, and stocking work areas, carts, and draw sites.
- Perform other assigned duties within the scope of the role.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a high school program, entering your senior year.
- Completion of the phlebotomy education training program and passing a practical and written exam within the first 3 weeks of hire.
- Strong customer service skills.
- A positive presentation and attitude.
- Basic computer fluency and literacy.
