About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist with the preparation, storage, and distribution of medications. This position provides students currently enrolled in a College of Pharmacy with practical experience to support their degree requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications by filling bins and labels, and restocking Pyxis stations.
- Prepare sterile products by aseptically compounding, labeling, and storing items according to department procedures.
- Make rounds to ensure the timely delivery of medication-related information and products.
- Help maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines for medications held on nursing units.
- Check expiration dates in assigned areas and manage inventory levels.
- Process patient billable and floor stock supplies, including charges and credits.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Current registration as an Intern with the Board of Pharmacy in the state where you will work.
- Proficiency in typing and computer keyboarding.
- Experience with MS Office.
- A degree in a related field such as Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics is preferred.
