About the role#
This PRN position provides X-Ray services to patients within the student scope of practice at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited radiology program who wish to gain clinical experience under the guidance of licensed professionals.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while selecting appropriate exposure factors under direct supervision.
- Assist supervising technologists and physicians with a variety of imaging tasks.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
- Adhere to all radiation protection and safety standards while working in a constant state of alertness.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited radiology school.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- No prior experience is required.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including constant standing and walking, frequent lifting and moving of patients, and the ability to lift or push objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
