About the role#
This is a PRN Radiology Technologist Student position based at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis. The role provides X-Ray services to patients while operating within the student scope of practice under direct supervision.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while selecting accurate anatomic and technical parameters.
- Assist supervising technologists and physicians with a variety of imaging tasks.
- Select exposure factors and follow all radiation protection and safety standards.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
- Work in a consistent state of alertness to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited radiology school.
- Valid Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Ability to meet physical requirements including constant standing and walking, as well as the ability to lift or move patients.
- Proficiency in clear oral communication and the use of vision and hearing for clinical safety.
