About the role#
The Biomedical Equipment Technician Internship at TRIMEDX provides hands-on training under the supervision of experienced clinical, biomedical, lab, and radiology engineers. You will work in a real-time service environment to learn the daily responsibilities of an engineer within a hospital setting.
What you'll do#
- Shadow experienced engineers to learn about the hospital environment and daily service operations.
- Respond to service calls and manage your daily workload.
- Document repairs and preventive maintenance work orders.
- Learn to calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair various types of medical equipment.
- Perform inventory validation and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Practice electrical safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent biomedical certification program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Prior experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment is preferred.

- This position is located in Birmingham, Alabama.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship with a rolling term.
