About the role#
Essentia Health is hiring Student Nurse Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, part-time position that offers hands-on experience in a hospital setting. You will work under direct supervision to provide support in routine and technical aspects of nursing care. The program runs from June 7th to August 13th, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with patient care activities while following best practices and established protocols.
- Work alongside nursing staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Help maintain a safe and healing environment for patients and their families.
- Support nursing care for patients across various age groups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited BSN or ADN nursing program.
- Completion of your junior year of a Bachelor’s program or at least 2 clinical semesters of an Associate’s program.
- Enrollment and active participation in an approved internship co-operative course at an accredited nursing school in the state of employment for the summer semester.
- Ability to obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month of your start date.
Location & details#
- Locations: Detroit Lakes, Graceville, Fosston, and Ada, Minnesota.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 30 to 36 hours per week (adjusted to 32 hours every two weeks for students with summer course loads).
- This is a temporary position and is not eligible for company benefits.
