About the role#
Essentia Health offers a Student Nurse Internship at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minnesota, for the summer of 2027. This paid internship provides hands-on experience under direct supervision. You will support nursing staff with routine and technical care for patients across various units, including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care, and Medical/Surgical departments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily patient care activities.
- Work with nursing staff to follow Joint Commission standards and other relevant regulations.
- Help maintain a safe and healing environment for patients and their families.
- Commit to 32 to 40 hours per week, with shifts that include days, nights, and weekends.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited BSN or ADN nursing program.
- Completion of your junior year of a Bachelor's program or two semesters of an Associate's program by summer 2027.
- Active enrollment in an approved internship co-operative course at your nursing school.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, which must be obtained within one month of your start date and remain valid throughout the internship.
