About the role#
This is a paid internship for students interested in radiology. You will work on-site at the SSM Health St. Anthony Healthplex in Oklahoma City. This role is open to students currently pursuing degrees in Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, or Health Administration.
What you'll do#
- Provide X-Ray services to patients within your student scope of practice.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging.
- Select exposure factors under the direct supervision of technologists.
- Follow established radiation protection and safety standards.
- Assist technologists and physicians with various imaging procedures.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and medications as permitted by regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure and storage rooms.
What you'll need#
- A valid Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of your shift.
- Capacity to lift and move patients regularly.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
