About the role#
The Safety Analytics Intern will assist in maintaining and improving the organization’s safety data systems to ensure compliance and operational excellence. You will support data validation and reporting within the Safety Information Management System while analyzing trends to identify potential risks. This role involves collaborating with safety and compliance teams to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
What you'll do#
- Work on moderately complex data science, machine learning, AI, or optimization projects.
- Apply math, statistics, and modeling methods for analytics.
- Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets to identify trends and risks.
- Support the ongoing effectiveness and maintenance of models.
- Generate reports, dashboards, and presentations to highlight key performance indicators.
- Assist with data validation, maintenance, and troubleshooting within internal systems.
- Document processes, create user guides, and maintain knowledge management resources.
- Participate in system testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, safety teams, and cross-functional partners.
- Support the full product lifecycle, including discovery, design, and testing.
- Develop user stories and create process maps for workflows.
- Identify and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency.
- Provide analytics and CRM support for sales teams.
- Build and maintain relationships within the Customer Organization.
- Gather and research data from various sources, including Salesforce and internal databases.
- Scrub and format data for system compatibility.
- Leverage Salesforce to update account details and manage tasks.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid U.S. Social Security Number.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, graphing, data manipulation), Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with forecasting software, SQL, R, Python, Java, or similar scripting languages.
- Preferred: Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI and data cleansing tools like Alteryx.
- Preferred: Knowledge of the data science project lifecycle, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and CRM tools like Salesforce.
- Preferred: Previous internship or work experience in an analytics or aviation environment.

- This is a full-time, on-site internship based at our headquarters in Dallas, Texas.
- The program runs from May 18, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
- This position is paid.
