About the role#
The Corporate Facilities team manages the design and construction of facilities across the network, including airport infrastructure, maintenance hangars, reservation centers, and crew bases. As an intern, you will support the team in maintaining these spaces and executing renovation projects. This is a 12-week, full-time, on-site internship based at our Dallas headquarters.
What you'll do#
- Inspect mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting.
- Conduct routine walkthroughs of buildings, grounds, and common areas to prepare inspection reports.
- Manage maintenance work orders and track corrective actions within our internal systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to support facility operations.
- Assist with safety audits, compliance inspections, and small-scale renovation projects.
- Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, or potential risks in facility operations and technology systems.
- Perform research, develop reports, and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot challenges and improve maintenance effectiveness.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a degree in Architecture, Finance, Business Administration, Construction Management, Data Analytics, Economics, Facilities Management, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- At least 3 semesters remaining in your degree program after the internship ends is preferred.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with commercial building systems and asset management practices.
- Ability to collect, organize, and visualize data using reporting tools.
- Proficiency in logic and reasoning to evaluate project solutions.
- Preferred experience includes AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite, and basic knowledge of architectural or interior design principles.
- Involvement in campus organizations or extracurricular activities is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Dallas, Texas (on-site).
- Term: May 18, 2027, to August 8, 2027.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $21 to $24 per hour, based on degree progress.
- Work authorization: U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Sponsorship is not available.
