About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly position for pharmacy students at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart in Oliver, British Columbia. You will gain practical experience in a community pharmacy setting while working under the guidance of an Associate-Owner. This role is designed to bridge the gap between academic study and real-world practice.
What you'll do#
- Provide support to pharmacy customers and ensure they receive helpful service.
- Learn about the expanding responsibilities of community pharmacists.
- Gain knowledge of over-the-counter products, disease state management, and drug therapy.
- Develop patient counseling and communication skills with patients, staff, and healthcare workers.
- Learn the operational skills required to manage a retail pharmacy.
- Prepare for a future career as a pharmacist in a community environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Health Administration, or Public Health.
- A commitment to acknowledging all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Strict adherence to privacy requirements, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
- A professional approach that ensures you are clearly identifiable to the public.
- A focus on delivering health, beauty, and convenience services.

- Location: 5955 Main Street, Unit 1100, Oliver, BC.
- Schedule: Part-time, evening hours.
- Pay: $22.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on experience and location.
