About the role#
This position offers practical experience for future pharmacists within a community pharmacy setting. Interns will work in a locally owned and operated store to deliver health, beauty, and convenience services while gaining real-world training to complement their academic studies. The role focuses on understanding the expanding responsibilities of a community pharmacist and preparing for success in a retail environment.
What you'll do#
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the local community.
- Provide an exceptional experience for all pharmacy customers.
- Acknowledge customers approaching the pharmacy and assist in managing customer confidentiality and consent.
- Ensure all privacy requirements and regulations are met.
- Learn about drug therapy, disease state management, and the use of over-the-counter (OTC) products.
- Develop patient counseling skills and enhance communication with patients, co-workers, and other health care professionals.
- Gain experience in the management and operation of a retail pharmacy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, or Health Administration.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and privacy.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, community-focused environment.
