About the role#
Giant Tiger is looking for a Health and Safety Project Intern to support the Health and Safety Store Excellence Program. This is a four-month, full-time paid internship. You will work with over 120 stores across Ontario to help managers navigate the program from start to finish. You will process applications, track information in our internal portal, and provide support to stores. This role offers experience in program coordination, data management, and stakeholder support.
What you'll do#
- Assist stores with implementing occupational health and safety programs.
- Build and compile health and safety program content across the business.
- Work in a team environment on special projects.
- Learn about legislative requirements for health and safety.
- Provide responsive support to stores throughout the program process.
What you'll need#
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Health and Safety or Human Resource program.
- Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to exhibit patience when performing repetitive tasks.
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid role requiring you to be onsite 2-3 days per week.
- You may work out of the Ottawa Home Office or the Johnstown Distribution Centre.
- This is a full-time, paid contract position.
