About the role#
This internship provides practical experience for future pharmacists within a community pharmacy setting. You will work in a locally owned and operated store, gaining real-world training that complements your academic studies. The role focuses on preparing you for success in community pharmacy practice while you learn about the expanding responsibilities of the community pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services while keeping the customer at the center of your work.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
- Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy and ensure they are served promptly.
- Maintain strict privacy requirements, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
- Remain clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Enhance your communication skills by interacting with patients, employees, and other health care workers.
- Develop knowledge in OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Learn the operational skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant program, such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- A passion for providing high-quality customer service.
- Ability to work in a community retail environment.
