About the role#
This is a full-time, paid co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work with Category Managers to provide objective analysis and recommendations that support business decisions for Shoppers Drug Mart and Joe Fresh. You will act as a consultant to internal teams and Associate-Owners, gaining experience in the retail industry.
What you'll do#
- Work with Category Managers to optimize promotional tactics and maximize sales and margin.
- Support the real-time consolidated forecast for flyer sales.
- Monitor promotional performance against forecasts and analyze variances.
- Calculate baseline sales and estimate incremental growth for specific categories.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis on promotional response and category elasticity.
- Deliver periodic reporting on operational KPIs and promotional performance.
- Synthesize large datasets from multiple sources to provide actionable recommendations.
- Identify and track new trends.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university degree program in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to turn data into insights.
- Previous professional or co-op experience in retail, CPG, consumer finance, or telecommunications is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of MS Access, SQL, Python, and Power BI is an asset.

- Work Modality: Hybrid (up to 1 day remote per week, with 4 days in the office).
