About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly pharmacy student position located at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store. You will gain practical experience in a community pharmacy setting, working under a local business owner while benefiting from the support of a national brand. This role is designed to prepare future pharmacists for success by providing real-world training that complements academic studies in fields such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
What you'll do#
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
- Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy and ensure they are assisted promptly.
- Maintain customer confidentiality and adhere to all privacy requirements and consent management protocols.
- Remain clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Participate in the store's Health and Wellness philosophy.
- Enhance communication skills through interactions with patients, staff, and other healthcare workers.
- Learn about over-the-counter (OTC) products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Develop skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant academic program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
- A commitment to professional service and customer care.
- The ability to work in a community pharmacy setting.
