About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join a project team within our Nuclear Power Group. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to support the design of new systems or the upgrade of existing components for power plants and industrial facilities. This position is for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist the engineering team by preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and relevant data.
- Design new systems or modify existing components for industrial and power facilities.
- Use automation and AI tools to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
- A strong academic background with coursework in mechanical systems analysis, such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time internship.
- Compensation: The hourly rate for this role is between $18.00 and $30.00.
