About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering internship based in Lenexa, Kansas, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site as part of a team focused on aviation and aerospace component manufacturing. This position requires U.S. Person status.
What you'll do#
- Partner with project, electrical, software, systems, and certification engineers.
- Participate in all phases of engineering processes, from initial concept to product field support.
- Take part in design reviews and lessons learned sessions to ensure mechanical design maturity.
- Troubleshoot mechanical design challenges as they arise.
- Gain exposure to regulatory and customer compliance matters.
- Suggest improvements to existing products and processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Active enrollment status throughout the duration of the internship.
- Relevant experience gained through coursework, projects, research, or previous work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Siemens NX or Teamcenter is preferred.
