About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work on-site as part of the Systems team for the CH-53K program. This role requires U.S. citizenship. You will gain experience in platform systems engineering, ranging from initial requirements capture to supporting fielded products.
What you'll do#
- Learn requirements capture and peer review processes for cockpit avionics.
- Decompose and allocate requirements to appropriate domains within Collins Aerospace.
- Support the creation of test procedures to verify requirements.
- Participate in on-site requirements-based testing, including robustness and AdHoc testing in a lab environment.
- Collaborate within an Agile-based development team alongside professional engineers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Basic experience with DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, and the ALM tool suite.
- Basic experience working within an aerospace-related engineering development environment.
