About the role#
This co-op position offers students the chance to apply classroom learning to professional engineering projects. You will join the Customer Feature Team in Saginaw to support software development and verification for Electronic Power Steering and Steer-by-Wire systems.
What you'll do#
- Support embedded software feature development across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Implement and maintain software functions to meet customer and system requirements.
- Design and unit test embedded software using C and model-based development tools like Simulink.
- Create scripts in languages such as Python, MATLAB, or SQL to improve team productivity.
- Collaborate with the team on Artificial Intelligence objectives and engineering workflows.
- Resolve hardware and software integration issues.
- Maintain technical documentation and participate in software and design reviews.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year university local to Saginaw.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.
- Interest in embedded software, control systems, and automotive applications.
- Exposure to structured programming languages like C, C++, or Python.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
