About the role#
The Software Engineering Co-op supports the development, testing, and debugging of software for RF generator systems and related technologies. This position provides practical experience in software development, hardware integration, and laboratory testing. You will work in a lab environment that includes high-voltage and water-cooled systems, where following safety procedures and engineering best practices is required.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain software applications using C#, C/C++, and Python.
- Test, troubleshoot, and debug software interactions with RF amplifiers and hardware.
- Support hardware and software integration involving Serial, EtherCAT, and Bluetooth communications.
- Assist with software verification and validation activities.
- Contribute to LabVIEW applications and Python scripting projects.
- Create and maintain software design and support documentation.
- Work in a laboratory environment using electronic test equipment and basic hand or power tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Junior or Senior standing in a formal co-op program for academic credit.
- Exposure to C#, C/C++, or Python.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Familiarity with hardware/software integration and electronic systems.
- Exposure to Serial, Bluetooth, networking, or industrial communications.
- Knowledge of LabVIEW or automated test environments.
