About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Software Platform Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This role supports the development, deployment, and maintenance of automated platforms for compute, network, and storage infrastructure. Interns will work on systems designed to collect and process intelligence data in support of national defense missions. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Richardson, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Support infrastructure and DevOps automation activities using programming and scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, or Java.
- Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of operations concepts, requirements, and systems engineering artifacts.
- Integrate software and hardware subsystems to ensure seamless functionality.
- Utilize continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development processes.
- Apply engineering principles to solve technical problems.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals.
- Leverage cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes, for platform optimization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued DoD TS/SCI security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).
- Experience with programming concepts and development or scripting skills using Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, or Java.
