About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Software Platform Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in Richardson, Texas, and supports the development, deployment, and maintenance of systems for national defense missions. You will work on distributed automated platforms for compute, network, and storage infrastructure, helping to deliver custom automation services in high-performance environments.
What you'll do#
- Support infrastructure and DevOps build and automation activities using programming and scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, or Java.
- Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of operations concepts, requirements, and systems engineering artifacts.
- Integrate multiple software and hardware subsystems to ensure seamless functionality.
- Utilize continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development processes.
- Apply engineering principles and theories to solve technical problems.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals.
- Leverage cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes for platform optimization.
What you'll need#
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued DoD TS/SCI security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting using Ruby, Python, Go, PowerShell, or Java.
