About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to develop software for our target applications. You will work with cross-functional engineering teams to build and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software. This role involves contributing to the design of overall systems and ensuring they meet operational performance requirements.
What you'll do#
- Support all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time tactical radio equipment.
- Develop software test procedures, programs, and documentation.
- Use modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, run experimental tests, and evaluate the results.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and fix defects.
- Write code using various languages on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field at an accredited university.
- Experience with software languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, or JEE.
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle, specifically regarding the design, implementation, and testing of embedded software.
- Familiarity with modeling tools and equipment used to evaluate experimental tests.
- Experience working with software on Windows, Linux, or real-time operating systems.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
- The schedule follows a 9/80 format, where you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off.
- We do not offer sponsorship for this role.
