Flight Software Engineering Intern

About the role#

As a Flight Software Engineering Intern, you will support the design and implementation of mission systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft. You will work with the A-GRA (OMS/UCI) framework to help develop interoperable systems and messaging architectures while contributing to the rapid design, build, and test of hypersonic aircraft.

What you'll do#

• Support the design and implementation of systems using A-GRA (OMS/UCI) for uncrewed high-speed aircraft.
• Assist in developing and integrating messaging systems that enable communication between mission subsystems.
• Work with messaging standards, protocols, and APIs to support system interoperability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to test, validate, and refine mission system interfaces and integrations.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Entry-level experience with C++, C, or other embedded programming languages.
• Experience working with hardware integrations and embedded computers such as Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, or STM32s.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Interest in mission systems, autonomy, or aerospace systems integration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 to meet U.S. export control requirements.

Location & details#

• Location: Atlanta, Georgia (On-site).
• Terms available: Summer 2026 (approx. 10 weeks) or Fall 2026 (approx. 16 weeks).
• Employment type: Full-time internship.
