About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work on the development of software for tactical radio equipment. You will apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to build and test software for specific applications. This position is based in Lynchburg, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Develop embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment.
- Create and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software components.
- Support all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements analysis to final testing.
- Write software test procedures, programs, and documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Participate in peer reviews to track and repair defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system design and performance requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related field.

- Location: Lynchburg, Virginia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule, which includes every other Friday off.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship with rolling start dates.
