About the role#
This Systems Engineer Intern position for Summer 2027 offers the opportunity to work on real avionics programs within the Next Gen Systems team. You will gain hands-on experience across the entire systems lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and delivery. You will work alongside experienced engineers to define system behavior, decompose requirements, and support avionics architecture development.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of systems, software, integration, and test engineers to develop and deliver avionics system solutions.
- Support the development, analysis, and refinement of system requirements and interfaces.
- Contribute to verification planning and test development to ensure implementations satisfy system requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews of requirements, design artifacts, and test procedures, while incorporating feedback into your work.
- Assist with system integration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in lab and development environments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
- Coursework or project experience related to systems engineering, embedded systems, software development, aerospace, or controls.
- Exposure to requirements development, verification, testing, or model-based engineering concepts.
- Experience with team-based technical projects, such as design reviews, troubleshooting, or test execution.
- Proficiency in or exposure to Python, MATLAB/Simulink, Cameo, or similar engineering tools is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
