About the role#
This Systems Engineer Intern position is part of the Next Gen Systems team, supporting the development of the Collins Flight Deck. You will gain hands-on experience across the systems lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and delivery. You will work alongside experienced engineers to define system behavior and contribute to avionics programs.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of systems, software, integration, and test engineers to develop and deliver avionics system solutions.
- Support the development, analysis, and refinement of system requirements and interfaces.
- Contribute to verification planning and test development to ensure implementations satisfy system requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews of requirements, design artifacts, and test procedures, while incorporating feedback into your work.
- Assist with system integration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in lab and development environments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
- Coursework or project experience related to systems engineering, embedded systems, software development, aerospace, or controls.
- Exposure to requirements development, verification, testing, or model-based engineering concepts.
- Experience working on team-based technical projects, including design reviews, troubleshooting, or test execution.
- Proficiency or experience with tools and languages such as Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or Cameo is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
