About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join a project team within our Nuclear Power Group for the summer of 2027. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to support the design of new systems or modifications to existing power plant and industrial facility components. This position requires you to solve engineering problems using data and modern tools, including automation and AI, to improve workflows and design efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and associated data.
- Assist engineering team members with project execution.
- Use programming or scripting, such as Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel, to automate calculations and reporting.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong academic background in mechanical systems analysis, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to use AI and automation tools to solve engineering problems.
