About the role#
RESPEC is hiring a Student Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Anchorage or Juneau, Alaska. You will work within our Facilities group, supporting senior staff and mentors on a variety of infrastructure and utility projects. This role provides hands-on experience in professional services, including design, construction administration, and site observations.
What you'll do#
- Assist project teams with mechanical calculations and design tasks.
- Support electrical engineering staff with the creation of drawings and documentation.
- Calculate components for lighting, power, and signal systems.
- Collaborate with technical mentors, field construction inspectors, and local architects.
- Participate in construction administration and perform site observations for public and private sector clients.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Prior experience in design or construction environments.
- Proficiency with computers and modern collaboration technologies.
- A willingness to learn and grow within a professional team.
