About the role#
RESPEC is hiring a Student Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 program in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a temporary, part-time position within the Facilities Structural market sector. You will work alongside full-time staff to gain experience in professional engineering services. Experienced mentors will provide coaching to help you develop your skills and knowledge. You will collaborate with multi-discipline teams on projects for both public and private sector clients.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design work.
- Perform calculations and simulations.
- Research assigned topics.
- Assist with field inspections.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in civil engineering.
- Coursework in steel, wood, concrete, and precast or prestressed concrete design.
- A good working knowledge of fundamental structural engineering concepts.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Revit.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Solid time management skills and a detail-oriented approach to producing high-quality work.
- A self-motivated attitude and the ability to work well in a team.
