About the role#
RESPEC is seeking a Student Civil Engineering Intern for our Anchorage office to join our Summer 2027 internship program. This is a full-time, on-site role within our Transportation Market Sector. You will work alongside our staff to gain experience in professional engineering services, including exposure to client projects, job sites, and local communities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with design work for public and private sector projects.
- Perform technical calculations and simulations.
- Research assigned engineering topics.
- Assist with field inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering.
- A good working knowledge of fundamental civil engineering concepts.
- Interest in designing features such as roads, underground utilities, site grading, paving, and storm drainage.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting plan sets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and some experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A detail-oriented, self-motivated approach and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.

- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid position based on experience.
