About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern in the Nuclear Power Group, you will join a project team to assist with the execution of engineering work. This role involves the design of new power plants and the modification or upgrade of existing power plant systems, components, and structures. You will work under the direction of experienced engineers to apply your academic background to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Support a team of engineers and designers in performing structural analysis and design for steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations.
- Review structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
- Apply automation and AI tools to solve engineering problems, improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- Strong academic background in the behavior of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, reinforced concrete design, and foundation design.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
