About the role#
As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will join a project team to assist with the execution of engineering work. You will work under the direction of senior engineers on projects ranging from power plant retrofits and new generation installations to renewable energy and industrial facilities. This role provides an opportunity to apply your academic background to real-world project designs.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Perform electric power equipment document reviews.
- Solve engineering problems using data and modern tools.
- Utilize automation and AI to improve workflows and reduce rework.
- Use scripting or programming tools like Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel to automate calculations and design checks.
What you'll need#
- Expected graduation date in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Coursework in electrical power concepts and AC power systems analysis.
- Strong PC skills and effective verbal and written communication.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program is preferred.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site.
