About the role#
This is a paid, full-time co-op position running from May 2027 through November 2027. You will support and lead packaging development and renovation projects across the Dairy Foods business portfolio. This includes work on butter, spreads, cheese, snacks, and dairy powders.
What you'll do#
- Conduct distribution hazard analysis and testing.
- Perform sustainability research and reporting.
- Execute shelf-life studies and sensory testing.
- Develop packaging specifications and drawings.
- Identify cost savings opportunities and qualify vendors or materials.
- Complete quality investigations and root cause analysis.
- Travel to plant facilities as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- Completion of 100 and 200 level major studies courses is preferred.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Experience in leadership roles within school, academic, or industry-related clubs.
- Ability to work in a laboratory or pilot plant environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs and wearing required personal protective equipment.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
- The work modality is hybrid, requiring you to be in the office four days a week.
- You must be able to relocate to the area for the duration of the co-op.
